Baskets Wrapped

Finally got some Penny Party baskets wrapped. Feeling a little less nervous.

White Things

Carly and her polar bears. She LOVES polar bears...but she calls them "white things". Looking forward to taking her to the zoo soon (when the weather is better) so she can see the real thing.

Waiting for Snow

Brandon and Holly went to bed tonight with their clothes on inside-out and spoons under their pillows. This is supposed to insure a snow day???? Good luck guys!

Luke is Pooped

Luke fell asleep in the saucer today. My bad? I swear I only walked away from him for a minute. When I came back and saw this I actually got scared for a split second...had to check to make sure he was breathing.

For those who don't know, I babysit Luke (and his brother Jake) every day. What fun!

Grandmom's New Crib

Adam's mother is pretty much moved in to her new place. First picture in the new place...with all of her grandchild (minus Adam D.).

Remodeling

Herman got some new furniture...a lamp (nah, it doesn't really light up - but it does have treats in the bottom of it), a bed with fluffy stuff, and a vanity with mirror (also has treats).

Probably not necessary...he just keeps running in that darn wheel.

Feast or Famine

Adam went from being out of work for four months to returning to work with less than 24 hours notice...and working ten hours days and all day Saturday. He's wiped out!

Yikes...

This could be very dangerous!!!

Play Cookin'

Everyone loves to play cookin', as Carly calls. It was well worth the money Santa spent to get a nice, old-fashioned wooden set. All the kids go right for it when they come over.

Today Carly was making "Family Soup"...whatever that is.

NF sucks!

And on a lighter note, Pee Wee's (somewhat creepy, when you think about what he did with it) hand with the pulse-ox thingy...Carly insisted.

A Little Snow

It seems like we're never going to get a decent amount of snow. Poor Hol was just dying to get out there in it today. I finally let her, for a little bit, but it was hardly worth it. C'mon, one 4" or 6" storm is all we really want. (Sorry Mom!)

Oh Well

The Eagles lost...oh well...look at the bright side, football season is over!!!!!!

Good Old Fashioned Heat

When Adam and I first looked at our house seven years ago, we saw this wood burning stove and thought, "What a waste of space. We're never gonna to use this thing." Boy, were we wrong! Now I think, "Thank God for this thing or we would be cold and broke"- instead of just broke.

This is why I hate when kids sleep in my bed...

It could be worse. It could have been throw up (and knowing my kids, I'm surprised it's not)...but thank God it's just ginger ale.

A Whole New Husband

Now he works and he does dishes! I feel like I hit the lottery!!!!!!

Hit the Road Jack

Adam's going back to work tomorrow. Lunches are packed and he's tucked in bed all ready to go...THANK GOD. I'm saying a prayer that it's permanent this time.

GNO WAY

What first grader knows what a gnu is? C'mon! Holly's pretty smart and even she didn't know that one. Heck, the only reason I knew (ha!) is because of the "Great Space Coaster".

BTW, I hated homework then and I hate it just as much now.

I'm Lovin' It

One of Holly's biggest thrills in life...the fact that McDonalds serves Cinnamon Melts all day long (not just breakfast). Since she's not feeling well today I got her one this afternoon, although she didn't feel well enough to eat it until tonight.

What a chore!

Carly is taking an antibiotic for a cold she has. In case you've never seen Carly take medicine before, it's quite a chore. She threw up before she even tasted it...actually she started gagging as soon as I said the word medicine - for real! Today was her third day of the medication and she finally did it without throwing up...yay! I had to give it to her in about 25 teency-weency doses (and it was only a teaspoon) but at least she did it.

Herman

I figured I'd better post a picture of Herman while he's still around. He doesn't eat anything! I don't know how he's still alive.

Bundle of Nerves

I was an emotional wreck today...thinking about the road that lies ahead for Car. Even her occupational therapy session made me cry today. I just kept thinking of the progress she has made and how we're going to be taking a huge step backwards now. She rolled around on this scooter board today (something she would not do a year and a half ago), yelling "This is awesone!!!!!"

A Game of Cat & Mouse

Funny thing is, I usually don't allow things like this. I hate when Adam and Brandon antagonize him, especially Brandon. I yell at Brandon to "knock it off" and then I turn to Adam and say, "That's exactly how Jeffrey Dahmer started out".

A RARE MOMENT

I love this picture...Carly is actually being nice to Jake! They played so nicely together today. I guess she really did miss him over the Christmas break.

A Cure for Evil???

So, here’s the deal with this one. As you probably know, I have an entire library full of “weird” pictures of Holly…sometimes she’s just making a silly face but most times it’s some kind of evil look (i.e. “The Father Brennan Picture”). Well, when I went to post this one, it had some wicked looking red-eye. Then I sort of debated about whether or not to remove the red-eye…kind of made the picture look even crazier. Then I noticed I couldn’t remove it…I tried and tried but I couldn’t, maybe because she was kind of sideways in the picture. Finally, I turned the picture a quarter turn counter clockwise and viola!, red eye removed. So I’m wondering, can I apply this method to the real Holly? When she gets evil, can I just turn her a quarter turn counter clockwise? I’ll try anything!

Who Would Have Thought...

Can you believe that this is Carly eating a chicken & steak quesadilla for dinner? The child who, this time last year, had a feeding tube and ate almost nothing. Still hard to believe...

Thank God for the small things.

Poor CarCar

Holly has just about recovered from the pneumonia (except for a hearty cough) and now Carly is sick. Temp is 102.3, runny nose and a little coughing - and she took a very long nap at Mom-Mom's house today. It's weird, although she has gone through a lot so far in her little lifetime, we rarely deal with the common stuff with her like colds, etc. - or maybe I'm just comparing her to Holly. Oh well, as long as she recovers in a timely fashion...18 days unti the next MRI.

Here We Go

Okay, so my friend Missy and I have challenged each other - to "Pic 365" - a picture every day of the year...so here we go.

Not sure if I'll be able to do it, and keep the Caring Bridge site going, and all the other day to day stuff. We'll see how it goes though.
